Kia Carnival facelift spied testing for the first time

The Kia Carnival facelift could borrow design inspiration from the upcoming EV9.

The Kia Carnival facelift has been spied for the first time at a parking spot in South Korea. The spy images showcase a heavily camouflaged Carnival MPV, suggesting significant updates to its design, both at the front and rear.

Reports suggest that the Kia Carnival facelift could borrow design inspiration from the upcoming EV9. The MPV can be seen featuring vertically-stacked headlamp units at the front, as well as a LED light bar above the front grille. While there are no images of the rear, reports state that it could also get a comprehensive update.

Apart from the design changes, the Kia Carnival facelift is also expected to get a hybrid version. The new powertrain will be borrowed from the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento and comes in the form of a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor. The hybrid powertrain is expected to produce a combined output of 227 BHP and 350 Nm. It is said to power only the front wheels of the upcoming MPV.

There are no official details of the upcoming Carnival facelift, including the unveil & launch timelines.
