Lamborghini's facelifted Gallardo & Edizione Tecnica are here

Lamborghini India has just added the updated Gallardo LP 560-4 and the LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica to its Indian offerings. Both are now available at your nearest Lamborghini dealership.

What's new on the LP560-4
Think of it as a minor facelift. The front bumper is completely new with a trapezoidal styling theme. Similar styling has been applied to the rear bumper, which also increases the air outlet surface area for better cooling. On the sides, the 19-inch  “Apollo polished” alloy wheels are painted matt black with the edges of the spokes in polished silver.

What's new on the Superleggera Edizione Tecnica
The Edizione Tecnica editions are what Lamborghini considers the top of the line Gallardos. The LP570-4 Superleggera includes the same fixed height rear wing and carbon-ceramic brakes as before. 3 exclusive optional colour combinations have been added: Nero Nemesis (matt black) body with Arancio Argos (orange) pillars and front air intakes (shown in the 4th image above), Bianco Canopus (matt white) body with Arancio Argos pillars and front air intakes, and Arancio Argos body with Nero Nemesis pillars and front air intakes.

The Gallardo
Launched in 2004, the Gallardo has now been around for a very long 9 years. It has been the most successful raging bull ever, with the LP560-4 having sold close to 13,000 units in its lifetime. The Gallardo has been kept alive by 2-wheel-drive & 4-wheel-drive options, a choice of coupe and spyder (soft-top) body forms, and countless limited "special editions". Lamborghini has confirmed that 2013 with be the last year that the Gallardo is produced, before its replacement arrives.

Decoding the Names
For example: LP560-4
LP: Longitudinale Posteriore. L: The engine is aligned longitudinally (crankshaft from front to rear of the car). P: It is rear-engined (posterior).
560: The power output in metric horsepower. Either 550, 560 or 570 for the current Gallardo models.
-4: Signifies 4-wheel-drive. Two wheel drive versions end in a "-2"
Superleggera: Italian for super-light. These versions have unnecessary bits stripped off to save weight.

Recent Launches
Earlier this year Lamborghini unveiled the Aventador Roadster at an event in Mumbai. Pavan Shetty (Head of Operations, Lamborghini India) has mentioned that the LP700-4 Roadster will be available for customers in July.
