Bought the 2024 Kawasaki Z650RS in Nov 2024. Have only logged 1500kms as of now with about 500kms of highways.
Weight - very easy to handle when in motion. City roads, by-lanes, congestions, no problem. Weight is only apparent when one has to reverse it. Manoeuvring the bike while not sitting on it is really scary and I've stopped trying to do it.
Ride is pliant, handles patches well. It is positively plush when riding 2 up. GC is a major issue for 2 up riding. Will scrape every single speed breaker. Need to be very careful. Solo, it isn't a problem.
The bike sort of leans into a turn or a curve... sort of telepathic and a pronounced lean... I don't know if there is a term for it... My 200NS never did anything like this.
Lovely pull after 5k RPM. Addictive, to say the least. Pulls effortlessly even in higher gears. I think I haven't even done 10% of what the bike can do. With the 200NS, I was used to riding it hard, the bike howling, and the parts threatening to fall apart, only to see Activas overtaking me quietly because I'd be doing 40 clicks. This bike (not at all a fair comparison, I know) would be doing 80 and there'd just be a whisper. 90-110kph is the sweetest spot where all vibrations just melt away. Again, addictive.
Engine heats up very quickly, especially in traffic or at a standstill. Going above 60kph will keep the temp gauge at the midway mark and the fan won't turn on. Fan, when on, diverts hot air down to the right foot-peg. Becomes uncomfortable - the solution is to wear crew-length socks.
Only Black/Ebony was available. However, at every signal, someone will chat you up about it. My wife thinks it looks the same as any other bike and is left wondering...
