Mahindra trademarks 'Scorpio X' nametag in India

The Scorpio X is likely to be a dual-cab pickup truck based on the Global Pik Up concept.

Mahindra has filed a new trademark for the ‘Scorpio X’ nametag in India. It could be the name given to the production version of the Global Pik Up concept that was showcased in South Africa last year.

The Scorpio X is likely to be a dual-cab pickup truck based on a next-generation ladder frame platform. Like the concept, the production version could get a bold front fascia derived from the Scorpio N, a more aggressive bumper and LED headlights. It could feature a rugged design with ample ground clearance.

The Scorpio X could share its interior with the Scorpio N. It could get some advanced features like Level 2 ADAS, semi-automatic parking and 5G connectivity.

The Scorpio X is expected to be powered by Mahindra's Gen-2 mHawk diesel engine. It could be paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission and a 4-wheel drive system.
