Mahindra Two Wheelers to launch four new models this year

Mahindra Two Wheelers plans to expand its presence in the two-wheeler market in India by launching up to four new models this year.

Among the products lined up for launch in this calendar year, is the 300 cc Mojo motorcycle. The bike was announced in 2010 and first displayed at the 2012 Auto Expo. Mahindra showcased the bike once again at the 2014 Auto Expo with some tweaks to the design. However, with the company struggling to find its feet in the market, the launch of the Mojo was put on hold.

Now, with the success of the Centuro commuter motorcycle, Mahindra has found the confidence to go ahead with the launch of the Mojo. The bike houses a 295 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that develops 27 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 25 Nm of torque @ 6500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 6-speed gearbox. The Mojo is one Mahindra product that is most eagerly awaited by enthusiasts!

Other products in the pipeline include a scooter and a 100-110 cc motorcycle and variants of existing products. This does not come as much of a surprise since we have already spotted a 110 cc scooter and a disc brake-equipped Centuro being tested on our roads.

Mahindra has also increased reach in the country by expanding its network across the country from 600 touch points in last year to 1500. Additionally, the company plans to expand its export operations from 11 countries to 15.
