Mahindra's upcoming MPV - Alongside an Innova & Crysta

Mahindra's upcoming MPV has been spotted again. The new MPV (codenamed U321) was snapped alongside its rivals from Toyota - the old Innova and the Innova Crysta. The images give a good perspective on the size of the vehicle compared to its competition.

Although the test mule is wrapped in heavy camouflage, the vehicle looks similar in size to the Innova and Innova Crysta. This means that the Mahindra MPV could offer similar interior space to its rivals, especially in the third row. The test mule seen here has a front-facing third row seat with headrests.

Earlier spy shots had revealed that the MPV is likely to get projector headlamps and Mahindra's trademark grille, which is expected to get chrome embellishments on the vertical slats. The top-end variants are expected to get alloy wheels and other premium features.

Media reports suggest, the U321 could be powered by a new 1.6-litre diesel engine. The powerplant is believed to be part of the mFalcon family of engines, which currently includes 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol and diesel units used in the KUV100. The company is also rumoured to be working on a 1.5-litre engine.
