Mahindra Marazzo MPV launched at Rs. 9.99 lakh

Mahindra has launched the Marazzo MPV with prices starting at Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in 4 variants - M2, M4, M6 and M8 in 7-seat or 8-seat configurations.

The Marazzo is based on a new Body-on-Frame-Front-Wheel-Drive architecture. It measures 4,585 mm in length, 1,866 mm in width and 1,774 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,760 mm and comes equipped with a 45-litre fuel tank.

The Marazzo's shark-inspired exterior styling features a 7-slat grille with chrome trim in the front flanked by twin-pod projector headlamps. The front bumper has a wide air dam with chrome trim at the bottom and fog lamps with integrated LED DRLs. The roofline gently slopes towards the rear. The MPV gets a front quarter glass and blacked-out B and C-pillars. The D-pillar is also partially covered with a black trim. Moving to the rear, the Marazzo gets a chrome garnish and triangular wraparound tail lights with boomerang shaped chrome trim. Lower variants of the Marazzo ride on 16-inch wheels, while the top-spec M8 variant gets 17-inch machined alloy wheels. 

The Marazzo gets dual-tone interiors with pearl white, piano black and chrome trim finishes. It is offered in 7 or 8-seat layout and features roof-mounted air-conditioning vents. The dual-tone dashboard houses a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB and iPod connectivity, as well as Mahindra Blue Sense app with Emergency Call, voice commands and SMS readout. It has integrated navigation with Turn-by-Turn navigation indicator in the instrument cluster. The car comes with a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel. The left-hand side seat in the 2nd row gets one-touch tumble down feature. The second-row passengers also get sunshades.

Other features include automatic climate control, power folding ORVMs with integrated turn signals, follow-me-home headlamps, service reminder, cooled glove box, sunglass holder, conversation mirror and charging outlets.

The Mahindra Marazzo is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which produces 121 BHP @ 3,500 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm @ 1,750-2,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, which sends the power to the front wheels.

Safety features like dual front airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, ABS, impact sensing door locks and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors are standard on all variants. The M6 and M8 variants get cornering lamps and rear parking sensors.

The Marazzo is available in 6 colour options - Mariner Maroon, Poseidon Purple, Aqua Marine, Iceberg White, Oceanic Black and Shimmering Silver.

Mahindra Marazzo variant details out

According to a media report, the upcoming Mahindra Marazzo MPV will be offered in four trim levels - M2, M4, M6 and M8.

The base M2 variant will get features like power windows, central locking, USB charging point for rear passengers, air-conditioning with roof-mounted rear AC vents and manually adjustable ORVMs. It will get 16-inch steel wheels. 

The M4 variant gets electrically operated ORVMs, rear washer and wiper, shark fin antenna, wheel caps, height adjustable driver seat, USB socket for front row and USB and Aux-in for rear passengers.

The M6 variant gets projector headlamps with cornering lamps and follow me home feature, front and rear fog lamps and 16-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, this variant gets front seats with adjustable lumbar support and fabric upholstery, keyless entry, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and personal reminder and multi-function steering wheel. It comes with a conversation mirror, illuminated passenger side vanity mirror and sunglass holder. It also gets safety features like rear parking sensors and emergency call feature.

The top-spec M8 variant gets 17-inch machined alloy wheels, LED DRLs and puddle lamps. It comes with features such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, cruise control, automatic climate control, reverse camera with display, leatherette upholstery, dual USB ports for front and rear passengers and power folding ORVMs.

Safety features like dual front airbags, passenger side airbag off-switch, speed sensing auto door lock, ABS with EBD and brake assist as well as ISOFIX child safety seat anchors will be offered as standard across all variants.

Mahindra is yet to reveal the Marazzo's engine specifications. However, reports suggest that it could be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine, which puts out 128 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. Initially, the Marazzo is expected to be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission, while an automatic gearbox could be introduced at a later date.

New images of the Mahindra Marazzo MPV have leaked online. The latest images reveal the car's exterior styling in much more detail.

The images suggest that the M8 variant of the Marazzo gets a 7-slat grille with chrome inserts and twin-pod headlamps with projectors. The front bumper has a wide air dam with chrome trim at the bottom and fog lamps with integrated DRLs on either side. Moving to the side, the Marazzo has chrome window trim and door handles, blacked-out B and C-pillars and ORVMs with integrated turn signals. The D-pillar is also partially covered with a black trim. 

Higher variants get 6-spoke alloy wheels, while the M8 variant gets dual-tone alloys. At the rear, the car comes with wraparound tail lamp clusters, chrome garnish and a dual-tone rear bumper with integrated reflectors. The images indicate that lower variants miss out on features like projector headlamps, fog lamps and alloy wheels.

Rumour: Mahindra Marazzo bookings open

According to a media report, some Mahindra dealerships have started accepting bookings for the upcoming Marazzo MPV for a token amount of Rs. 10,000.

The Marazzo gets wraparound headlamps with projectors and L-shaped turn signals. It has a 7-slat grille with chrome highlights and wraparound tail lamps. On the inside, the Marazzo comes with 3 rows of seats in 7 or 8 seat configuration and overhead air-conditioning vents. It has a dual-tone dashboard with a touchscreen infotainment system and a twin-pod instrument cluster with a purple back light.

According to a media report, Mahindra is likely to launch the new Marazzo MPV on September 3, 2018.

In July 2018, Mahindra announced the name of its upcoming MPV. Since then, the carmaker has been releasing teaser images on a regular basis. Recently, Mahindra revealed the Marazzo's interior and seating configuration. It gets beige interiors and a dual-tone dashboard which comes fitted with a touchscreen infotainment system. It will be available with 3-row of seats in either 7 or 8-seat layout. The Marazzo is designed in collaboration with Pininfarina. It features shark-inspired 7-slat grille up front.

Mahindra is yet to announce the engine that will be offered on its new MPV. However, reports suggest that it might get a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit which is likely to produce around 119 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. The engine could be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Mahindra Marazzo interior revealed

Mahindra has released images revealing the interior and seating configurations of the upcoming Marazzo MPV.

The images indicate that the Mahindra Marazzo will get beige interiors with 3 rows of seats with the front seats getting separate centre arm rests. Depending on the variant, the middle row will have a 40:20:40 split folding bench seat offering seating for 3 persons or two separate captain seats. The third row bench seat can seat two and comes with headrests and a seatback that can be folded down to increase luggage space.

Another image released by Mahindra suggests that the Marazzo will come with a dual-tone dashboard with silver inserts and a touchscreen infotainment system. It has a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a twin-pod instrument cluster with a purple backlight.

The Marazzo is built on a monocoque chassis and is expected to be launched in Q2 of FY2018-19.

Mahindra Marazzo dashboard revealed

Last week, Mahindra revealed the name of its upcoming MPV as the Marazzo, along with a few teaser images. Now, the latest official image released by the carmaker gives us a look at the Marazzo's dashboard.

The new Marazzo MPV gets a flat-faced dual-tone dashboard with a gloss black fascia. It houses a touchscreen infotainment screen in the centre, while the air-conditioning vents have chrome surrounds. The lower part of the dashboard features two L-shaped silver trim pieces. The MPV gets a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a twin-pod instrument cluster with a central MID, while the dials have a purple backlight. 

The Mahindra Marazzo is based on a new monocoque chassis developed in collaboration with the Mahindra North American Technical Centre (MNATC) and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), Chennai. It will be built at Mahindra's Nashik plant and is expected to be launched in Q2 of FY2018-19.

Mahindra U321 MPV to be called Marazzo

The upcoming Mahindra MPV (codenamed: U321) has been named Marazzo. The word Marazzo means shark in Basque - a sub-language of Spanish. 

The Mahindra Design Studio in collaboration with Pininfarina has designed the Mahindra Marazzo MPV. It features shark-inspired design details like the front grille and tail lamps. It gets fog lamps with integrated LED DRLs in the front and a shark fin antenna. It comes with beige interiors with a twin-pod instrument cluster with purple surrounds and a central MID. The warning lights for 4WD, cruise control and auto start/stop suggest that it might get these features.

The Marazzo is reportedly based on a new monocoque chassis developed by the Mahindra North American Technical Centre (MNATC) and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), Chennai. According to the company, the Marazzo has been benchmarked against global standards of quality, safety and emission regulations. It will be built at Mahindra's manufacturing unit at Nashik. 

The Marazzo MPV will be launched in the second quarter of FY2018-19.

Mahindra will be announcing the name of its upcoming MPV on July 31, 2018. 

The new MPV (codenamed: U321) is based on a new monocoque chassis. Spy images suggest that it will be similarly sized to an Innova Crysta. It has a slatted grille in the front flanked by projector headlights. The front bumper houses a set of fog lamps that have integrated L-shaped LED DRLs. It has vertically stacked tail lights and a roof spoiler at the rear.

The U321 MPV gets dual-tone interiors. The dashboard has a piano black fascia, while the centre console houses an infotainment screen. It has a 3-spoke steering wheel and an instrument cluster with purple backlight.

Media reports suggest that the U321 MPV will be offered with a new 1.6-litre diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It will compete with the Toyota Innova Crysta, Tata Hexa and others in the Indian market.
