Maruti Eeco to get a BS-VI compliant 1.2L engine

According to a media report, the Maruti Eeco is likely to get a BS-VI compliant engine.

Reports suggest that the Eeco's 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder engine is expected to be upgraded to meet BS-VI norms. At present, the engine produces 73 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 101 Nm of torque @ 3,000 rpm and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Eeco has already been upgraded to meet the latest safety norms that mandate ABS, airbags, rear parking sensors and high speed warning system. It is also expected to comply with the crash test regulations that come into effect from October 1, 2019 and pedestrian protection norms that will be introduced from October 1, 2020.
