Maruti starts exporting the Baleno to European markets

At the time of the Baleno's launch in India, Maruti Suzuki confirmed that the car would be exported to over 100 countries worldwide. While the Baleno has already been exported to Suzuki's home market of Japan, shipments have now been sent to European markets as well.

As per the data on Zauba, Maruti Suzuki has exported several left-hand drive units of the Baleno to markets like Poland, Germany, Belgium, Slovenia and Italy. The cars in question are powered by a K12C petrol engine that displaces 1,242cc (Indian Baleno displaces 1,197cc). Some of the cars exported have the CVT automatic gearbox, while most of the cars have the standard 5-speed manual transmission.

The Baleno has been a success in the market and drives in most of the footfall for Maruti's NEXA premium car dealerships. In India, the Baleno is expected to get the option of a new 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that makes 110 BHP and 170 Nm of torque, with the launch expected in the festive season this year.
