Maruti Suzuki Ciaz launched at Rs. 6.99 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Ciaz sedan in India at prices staring from Rs. 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Ciaz, which is a replacement for the SX4, is built on a brand new platform and is among the longest and widest cars in the C2 sedan segment. Maruti also claims that it is the most aerodynamic car from its stables. Projector headlamps are standard across all variants of the car and the top end variants ride on 16-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the car has a black and beige theme. Maruti has equipped the Ciaz with climate control, rear air-conditioning vents, electrically folding mirrors, rear sunshade, auto day / night rear view mirror, keyless entry and go, audio system with USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity and navigation system among others. Safety equipment includes , airbags and ABS with EBD. 

The Ciaz is available with a choice of two engines - 1.4-litre, petrol, producing 91 bhp and 130 Nm of torque and 1.3-litre, diesel, good for 80 bhp and 200 Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission is available on all the variants of the car. The petrol VXi+ and ZXi variants are available with a 4-speed automatic gearbox as well. The ZXi+ and ZDi+ variants of the Ciaz, which will sit at the top of the range, will be available in early 2015.

Maruti Suzuki has plans to export the Ciaz to markets in the Middle East, Latin America and Africa regions.
