Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift spied

Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker in terms of sales, appears to be gearing up to launch a facelifted version of the Swift hatchback. The car has been spotted at what is believed to be the company's stockyard in Manesar.

While the images have been clicked at long range, they do give us an idea of some of the changes we can expect on the Swift facelift. The car gets a reworked front bumper with day-time running lights that line the fog lamp housings and alloy wheels of a new design.

Maruti is also likely to make some changes to the interiors and equipment levels of the Swift. These include keyless entry and go (engine start / stop button), dual-tone upholstery, one-touch up / down window for the driver, updated infotainment system, reverse parking sensors and electrically retracting ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.

Engine and transmission options for the Swift are likely to remain the same as the current model:

  • 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol, 86 bhp @ 6200 rpm, 114 Nm @ 4000 rpm, 5-speed MT
  • 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel, 74 bhp @ 4000 rpm, 190 Nm @ 2000 rpm, 5-speed MT

The Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift is expected to be launched during the on-going festive season.
