Maruti SX4 Facelift caught!

BHPian Asva shares these scoop pictures of the SX4 facelift he spotted in his office building @ Bangalore.

The front grille gets an overdose of chrome. Also new is the front bumper and fog lamp housing. It’s obvious that the face of the SX4 now bears a striking resemblance to that of the Tata Indigo! The ORVMs (wing mirrors) get integrated blinkers, while BHPian Amit Punjani adds that a Garmin GPS navigation system will be offered on higher variants. The changes are overall so marginal that a casual observer might not even notice them.

The China-market SX4 received this facelift way back in the year 2010. The Chinese SX4 also has a slightly tweaked rear design that isn’t expect to make it to the Indian SX4.

6 years from the time of original launch, the SX4 has gotten long in the tooth. The car is past its sell-by date and feels old when compared to the likes of the Hyundai Verna & VW Vento. Its monthly sales for the July – December 2012 period averaged at a mere 522 units, which isn’t saying much for a Maruti sedan.

Maruti has already started shipping the SX4 facelift to its dealers, thus indicating that the launch is just around the corner.
