Mercedes-Benz launches CLA 45 AMG at Rs. 68.50 lakh

German luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz has launched the CLA 45 AMG in India at a price of Rs. 68.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the seventh AMG model that the company has launched in India.

The CLA 45 AMG is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces a 355 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. The company claims that this is the 'world's most powerful 4-cylinder series production engine' and can propel the car from 0 to 100 kph in 4.6 seconds and a limited top speed of 250 kph. The car has an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission with three modes - C (Controlled Efficiency), S (Sport) and M (Manual) and a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

To distinguish the CLA 45 AMG from the regular CLA, Mercedes has given it more aggressive bumpers with larger air intakes and a splitter at the bottom, a twin-blade radiator grille with a central three-point star, 5-twin-spoke 18-inch wheels and badging. The car also gets brake calipers lacquered in red.

Coming to the interior there is an AMG steering wheel, racing seats with red design seat belts and instrument cluster with round black dials, carbon-fibre design and red / silver needles. The CLA 45 AMG comes loaded with equipment and safety & drive assist features such as Pre-Safe, 3-stage Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and ESP Curve Dynamic Assist.

Mercedes-Benz is also expected bring the standard CLA to India with both, petrol and diesel versions, within 180 days.
