MG Astor Black Storm Edition to be launched on September 6

The Astor Black Storm edition could be based on the top-spec Savvy trim.

MG Motor India is gearing up to launch the Astor Black Storm edition on September 6, 2023. The carmaker has just released a teaser confirming the same.

The Astor Black Storm edition is expected to get an all-black exterior finished in Starry Black and gloss black trim. The SUV is also likely to get a black grille and black alloy wheels with red brake calipers.

The interior will have a similar dark theme, featuring black upholstery with red accents on the dashboard and door pads. The SUV is likely to be based on the top-spec Savvy trim and will be equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster, among other features.

The MG Astor is available with two engine options. These include a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit producing 138 BHP and 230 Nm and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated motor that puts out 109 BHP and 144 Nm. The former is available with an automatic transmission, while the 1.5-litre engine comes with the option of a manual and CVT.

The Astor Black Storm edition is likely to be offered with the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 6-speed automatic.
