Take Two - Bringing the RZ home:

Last time things didn’t go as planned and I had to get the RZ home on a flatbed on its maiden long ride. The culprit as expected was the oil seal which is behind the front sprocket and it was fitted back using adhesive this time around in order to prevent it from popping out again. In all 800 ml of oil was lost which was topped up again. I went to pick up the bike on Saturday and did a few test rides to check everything was ok. The slides were pulled out again and filled down as there were some rough edges. Also, the needles on both carbs will need to be changed and have ordered a set which should come along with the parts ordered for my RD 200. Plus, we will be increasing the pilot jets and also removing the boost bottle as we try to achieve the desired carburettor tuning. The bike ran well with the slights changes we carried out and I reached home without any drama and the radiator was doing its job well without any overflow this time around.

So, with this I decided the RZ is now ready to be unveiled to the family and started sending out messages to my friends and cousins to be present on Sunday for the unveiling. My sister and my niece unfortunately couldn’t make it this time and another cousin would return back home late in the afternoon, so the turnout this time was less as compared to the RD 250 unveiling. The news to my dad was delivered by my cousin while I was recording his reaction and initially he thought my cousin bought a bike only to be corrected and he couldn’t believe it that I did it for the 7th time now . In preparation for the unveiling I got up early and washed and polished both the RD 250 DS and the RZ 350 to click some good pictures of them.

Its been an interesting and challenging adventure till date and I am now waiting for the baby RD’s to be ready to click one epic picture of the full collection. The build wouldn’t have been possible without the help of my friends Tony, Sumant, Eddie etc and also my family who have tolerated my passion for motorcycles which has clearly grown out of proportion and it’s only after looking at the packed garage that they now know no more further bikes can be added and I have been forewarned to not even consider getting a garage on rent to grow the collection any further

Now time to enjoy some crisp pictures clicked by my cousin and myself…
