My S-Cross petrol: 9 month update & pleasant NEXA service experience

The AC, rear leg room, music system and overall interiors in the car are all good. Ingress and egress for parents is also convenient due to lower ground clearance.

BHPian ontheway recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Hello everyone, wanted to share my quick ownership experience with the S-Cross till now.

Completed 9 months with it and just got back from 10K km third free service. My last car was a Swift VDi, so shifting from that sweet 1.3L Fiat turbo diesel to an NA petrol engine was a small adjustment I had to make. Still miss that thrust and power acceleration during overtakes and highway runs. The 1.5L NA engine in the S-Cross is purely for sedate driving and one needs to push the car to go past 100km/hr which I rarely do as I mostly drive in 90Km/hr range on highways. Otherwise, the car feels solid and grounded when driving at high speeds or taking sharp turns.

The ground clearance at 180mm as compared to others at 190-200mm has not been an issue. I have passed over deep pothole ridden roads and over high speed-breakers with full load but never faced an issue. The only irritating factor has been the suspension, when driving over slightly deep potholes or joints on the flyovers when there is a loud thud from the suspension which spoils the driving pleasure.

The AC, rear leg room, music system and overall interiors in the car are all good. Ingress and egress for parents is also convenient due to lower ground clearance. The boot space could have been bigger, especially compared with what the competitors offer.

Now for the after sales service at MASS which many of us fear. I took my earlier Swift to MASS (now Arena) service centers during warranty and most of the times had to argue with Service Advisor to get job card toned down to essentials. I also regrettably took the S-cross for first free service to an Arena MASS as it was convenient at that time and had similarly bad experience, not with bill as it was just a check-up and washing but interaction with SA was just pathetic. Was already regretting going with MS again.

But for second and now third service, had a completely overhauled and pleasant experience when I took the car to the NEXA workshop. I want to appreciate here the Jagmohan NEXA at Mangolpuri, Delhi and their SA Mr. Vikas Bist who attended to my car both the times. You can just book appointment for the service using Maruti's app and reach the center. SA was very patient to my queries and attended to each and every concern of mine.

Cost for third free service came at just Rs. 2395 (oil change, cabin filter change and misc).

To summarize, loving the overall driving experience with the car and now the services are also smooth and pocket friendly (touchwood).
