New-gen Hyundai Verna: Interiors teased ahead of India launch

Hyundai has released yet another teaser image of the new-gen Verna, revealing a few details about the interiors of the car. The company had previously teased the front fascia of the sedan. The 2017 Hyundai Verna is expected to be launched in India next month (August 2017).

The new teaser image is essentially a sketch of the Verna's dashboard. According to this image, the new-gen Verna will get a completely revamped dashboard layout. It will retain the dual-tone treatment, while the instrument cluster and steering wheel will be all-new. The centre console will be slightly tilted towards the driver and will house a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with vertically oriented HVAC vents on both sides.

Hyundai isn't expected to make any engine-related tweaks to the new Verna. The car is likely to continue to be offered with a choice of a 1.4-litre petrol and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. However, Hyundai might offer a 6-speed automatic gearbox in the Verna, which will replace the outdated 4-speed unit that is found in the current model.

The new-gen Verna will compete against the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, VW Vento and Skoda Rapid.
