New goodies for my 2020 BMW R1250 GS Adventure Pro

My children were home from Ireland form a few days and I had asked them bring some stuff for my bike and that of my buddies

BMW R1250 Adventure Pro Accessories:

- Optimate 4 - BMW Motorrad Canbus Compatible Battery Charger - Quad Program -Premium Edition

- HEX GS911 WiFi - Ultimate Diagnostic Tool for BMW Motorcycles - 4 of us BMW buddies shared the cost of this as this can fully diagnose and program 10 bikes without a licence

- Hex EzCAN for a buddies 850GS (as I already have one attached)

- OBD11 Pro Pack for all cars - primarily got it for my Skoda Superb (now sold) and a Skoda Kodiaq in the family

- Denali Accessory Socket and Nippy Norman's Accessory Socket and some other minor stuff

A closer look at the Optimate 4 Box. Now my Beemer has a dedicated Canbus compatible trickle charger -

Unboxed - comes with a dedicated O01 Battery Lead that I described in my earlier post, a O04 Battery Clamps, Hanging Clamp for handlebar and a special O19 BMW DIN Port Adapter to plug it directly into the DIN Charging Socket on the bike (compatible with bike's canbus system)

Both the Optimate 4 and Hex GS911 WiFi (attached to the OBD port) attached to the bike -

Nippy Norman's Accessory Port to tap into the power supply through the Navigator 6 connector without cutting any wires. It is differently used when you want to totally remove the Navigation Cradle -

Denali Accessory Port Adapter - a little different from Nippy Normans as it remains inline and gives you a accessory power supply without cutting any wires and also using the Nav Cradle. But both basically do the same job on our bikes.

Magic of HEX GS911 Diagnostic Tool for BMW bikes - 14-12-2024

This tool can do many many things. For details you need to do a Google search.

1st thing I did was to Reset the Service Reminder to the date and mileage of my choosing, as it used to throw a very irritating error message on the screen on each startup, as the bike had not been serviced since Oct 2021. Video

Next the Heated Grips were to set to 6 stage heat setting from the default 2 -

You can change the Startup Screen from the default GS Screen to M Sports screen as seen on the S1000RR. Video

You can also change the Default Screen from the GS one to the Sports one -

Which gives you the Lap Timers -

There are 100s of other things you can do with this tool, with full diagnostics and resetting compatibility. The only thing it can't do presently, although it is fully competent enough to do it, is the software upgrade on the bike, which happens from BMW backend and has been locked in by the company. Maybe in the next update, because all default programming, anyways, on BMW's is done by HEX Microsystems, South Africa only, the parent company of this product.
