Next-gen Dodge Charger & Challenger to be pure-electric only

The company is said to unveil the concept version of its first electric-muscle car in the coming weeks.

According to a media report, Dodge has confirmed that the next generation Charger and Challenger offerings will lose their V8 engines and be offered with pure-electric powertrains only. The two cars are also expected to be underpinned by a new platform. Both models will make their debut in 2024.

However, according to a media report, the arrival of the electric versions of the Dodge Charger and Challenger doesn't mean the immediate end of combustion engines. It is speculated that the new BEV models could co-exist with the current offerings for a short period of time.

Last year, Dodge announced its plans to introduce an electric muscle car. The company is said to unveil the concept version of its first electric-muscle car in the coming weeks.

Apart from the all-electric Charger and Challenger models, Dodge is also working on the electric version of its RAM, 1500 which is expected to be unveiled in the near future.
