Next-gen Fiat Punto spied in Brazil

The next generation of Fiat's premium hatchback - Punto, has been spotted in Brazil. Codenamed as the X6H, this car is likely to be the replacement of the outgoing Punto in Latin America and possibly in Europe too.

Since this car is heavily camouflaged, not too many design cues are revealed. It has swept-back headlamps, new multi-spoke alloy wheels and its ORVMs are now mounted on the window cladding and not on the doors (unlike the outgoing Punto). Its tail lamps have a vertical orientation. This test car wears a spoiler too.

The image source - Carplace, also claims that this new Punto will have 3 engine options - an E-Torq 1.6L, a 1.8L and a new 1.4L petrol from the GSE family. The latter will be an aluminum block, petrol engine which churns 100 BHP and 140 Nm of torque.

As per a news report from 2014, it has been derived that Fiat might launch the next generation Punto in India in 2017.
