Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio to get rear disc brakes

The Scorpio could be offered with a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 158 BHP.

A test mule of the next generation Mahindra Scorpio has been spotted yet again. The latest spy images suggest that the SUV will get disc brakes on all four corners.

The new Scorpio (codenamed: Z101) appears larger and features a completely new look. It is expected to be based on a ladder frame chassis. The SUV gets a typical Mahindra grille with vertical slats at the front, which is flanked by twin-pod headlamps. The upright rear fascia has a side-hinged tailgate.

The SUV is equipped with ORVMs that have integrated turn indicators, roof rails, side steps and is riding on multi-spoke alloy wheels. Unlike the new XUV500, the Scorpio gets pull-type door handles.

The Scorpio could be offered with a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 158 BHP, paired with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission.
