Next-gen Mercedes S-Class could be launched in H2-2021

According to a media report, the next generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class could be launched in India in the second half of 2021.

The new S-Class (W223) is scheduled to be unveiled in September, this year. But, we will have to wait and see if the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic affects Mercedes' launch plans.

Prototypes of the new S-Class have already been spotted. The spy images suggest that it is likely to get a new vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment head unit and digital instrument cluster. The car could feature subtle styling changes on the outside.

Under the bonnet, the new S-Class is expected to get a variety of powertrain options including petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid. Moreover, Mercedes may no longer offer the V12-powered S600 variant.

The new S-Class could be offered as a long-wheelbase model only. Rumours suggest that it may not come in coupe and cabriolet bodystyles.
