Ola Electric achieves 1.5 lakh e-scooter sales in 2022

By 2027, Ola plans to have 6 different products in the market.

Electric 2-wheeler maker, Ola Electric claims to have sold nearly 1.5 lakh EVs in 2022.

Bhavish Aggarwal, founder and CEO of Ola Electric revealed this in a blog post. "We have sold almost 1,50,000 EVs this year and are working towards the Mission Electric – all 2W sold in India by the end of 2025 to be electric, and all cars sold in India by 2030 to be electric," he said.

Ola launched its first electric scooter in the Indian market in September 2021. Today, the company offers three variants of the e-scooter – S1 Air, S1 and S1 Pro, with prices starting at Rs. 84,999.

Ola Electric plans to introduce more electric 2-wheelers over the next couple of years. These include a mass-market scooter and motorcycle as well as a range of premium motorcycles.

The next step for the company would be to enter the electric car segment. As you may be aware, plans are in place for Ola’s first electric car. It is expected to debut sometime in 2024. By 2027, Ola plans to have 6 different products in the market. Aggarwal also mentioned that the brand could enter the electric commercial vehicle segment in the future.

Ola also plans to get into lithium-ion cell production. Its first battery could be launched by the end of 2023. The EV maker is looking to expand its footprint in the global market as well.
