Earlier, both SUVs had been recalled over a faulty front seat belt height adjuster and airbag controller.

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota have recalled over 15,000 units of the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUVs over a faulty rear seat belt mounting bracket.

Vehicles manufactured between August 8, 2022, and November 15, 2022, are said to be affected by this recall. These include 11,177 units of the Grand Vitara and 4,026 units of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

According to the carmakers, their respective dealerships will be reaching out to customers to get their vehicles inspected. If necessary, the component will be replaced free of cost.

This is the third recall announced by Maruti Suzuki and Toyota in the last 2 months. Earlier, both SUVs had been recalled over a faulty front seat belt height adjuster and airbag controller.
