Petrol costlier by Rs. 3.96, diesel by Rs. 2.37

After slashing the prices of petrol and diesel two times in a row, the oil companies have  decided to hike them by Rs. 3.96 and Rs. 2.37 respectively. After the revision, petrol will cost Rs. 63.16 in Delhi per litre, while diesel will cost Rs 49.57 per litre.

The month of April had seen the price of fuel drop. The first reduction came on April 2, when the price of petrol was slashed by 49 paise per litre and that of diesel be Rs. 1.30 per litre. On April 16, the price of petrol was reduced by 80 paise per litre and that of diesel by Rs. 1.30 per litre.

Fuel prices are reviewed every fortnight in India. Prices are hiked or lowered according to international rates and the Rupee - US Dollar exchange rate.
