Porsche to temporarily suspend production due to Ukraine war

Porsche has already suspended production at its Leipzig plant, which manufacturers the Panamera and Macan.

Porsche could temporarily halt the production of all its models due to the ongoing war in Ukraine. According to media reports, the situation in Ukraine is causing a supply chain issue, which could affect the production of all the current Porsche models.

Reports also suggest that Porsche has already suspended production at its Leipzig plant, which manufacturers the Panamera and Macan. The plant was shut down on March 2 and will remain non-operational until March 11, 2022. Also, while the brand's Zuffenhausen plant currently remains unaffected, it may not be the case for long.

A leaked memo details the exact timeline for the halt in production of multiple Porsche models. Going by the memo, Porsche will halt production of the Panamera & Macan on March 2, followed by the Taycan on March 3. The Cayenne production will stop on March 7, while the production of the 718 Cayman and Boxster models will be suspended on March 14. Production of the Porsche 911 GT3 and Touring models will stop on March 14, while production of the remaining 911 models will be paused on March 31.

Reports, however, do not mention how long the shutdowns will last.
