Production-spec Mahindra BE.05 spotted; launch in early-2025

The BE.05 will be offered with two battery options, offering up to 450 km of range.

The Mahindra BE.05 electric SUV has been spotted in close-to-production form for the first time. Reports suggest that it might be launched in January 2025.

The latest spy images suggest that the production version of the BE.05 will have a similar design to the original concept. It’s bold and futuristic and has a strong shoulder line, flared wheel arches and striking LED lights at the front and rear. The EV also has a piano black roof, bumpers and wheel arch trim and rides on stylish dual-tone alloy wheels.

The interior of the BE.05 is just as fancy as its exterior. The electric SUV features a new 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated BE logo in the centre and dual screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment. A floating structure connects the dashboard to the centre console, creating a cockpit-like environment for the driver.

The Mahindra BE.05 is likely to be offered in single and dual-motor configurations. It is expected to be powered by a Valeo motor producing 228 BHP and 380 Nm. The company is also said to be in talks with VW to use its APP 550 motor, which has an output of 282 BHP and 535 Nm.

Reports suggest that the BE.05 will be offered with two battery options. The larger 79 kWh battery pack is said to deliver a range of around 450 km (WLTP cycle). It will support fast charging up to 175 kW, capable of charging the battery from 20-80% in 20 minutes.

It is also said that the BE.05 will have regenerative braking with 5 settings. Users will also be able to set a “charging limit” to automatically stop the charging process when a certain State of Charge is reached.
