Renault evaluating Megane E-Tech EV for India

The Megane E-Tech electric car could arrive in India via the CBU route.

According to a media report, Renault could foray into the Indian EV segment with the Megane E-Tech.

The Megane E-Tech was revealed at the 2021 Munch Auto Show. The report states that the car is now being considered for India. It could be imported as a completely built unit (CBU).

The Megane E-Tech is based on the CMF-EV platform. The car's design is inspired by the Megane eVision concept. It features a bold front end with slim LED headlamps and striking LED daytime running lights.

Inside, the car gets a futuristic dashboard with a dual-screen setup, which includes a vertically-oriented touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.

The Megane E-Tech is offered with two battery options: 40 kWh and 60 kWh, offering a range of up to 470 km. The car comes with a choice of two electric motors. While the entry-level version gets an electric motor with 128 BHP and 250 Nm, the higher-spec Megane E-Tech comes with 215 BHP and 300 Nm.

Renault is also said to be evaluating the Arkana SUV for the Indian market.
