Rumour: KTM to launch RC 390 in September

KTM has been testing RC 390, the full-faired version of the 390 Duke in India for a long time. Now, according to latest media reports, the company is gearing up to launch the bike on September 9, 2014.

The RC 390 was first shown at the EICMA motorcycle exhibition. It features a full fairing, new tail-frame section, shorter wheelbase, clip-on handlebars and mirrors with integrated turn-indicators. The bike has a powder-coated, tubular space frame made from steel, with an upside down WP suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The front suspension of the RC 390 is lesser than that of the Duke. Single disc brakes have been provided on both wheels.

The RC 390 shares its engine with its Duke sibling. Both are powered by a 373.2 cc, 43 bhp, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine mated to a 6-speed transmission. The RC 390 weighs more, but has a smaller fuel tank than the Duke.

KTM is expected to price the RC 390 higher than the 390 Duke.
