Rumour: Maruti Baleno Cross / YTB could be called Flash or Blaze

The car is expected to be smaller than the Brezza and borrows design cues from the Grand Vitara.

Automakers have lined up quite a few SUVs for India next year. Among these is the Baleno-based crossover - codenamed YTB, which, as per new reports, could be called 'Flash' or 'Blaze'.

The Maruti Flash / Blaze is said to debut at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023. Spy images suggest that it is likely to be a jacked-up version of the Baleno hatchback, albeit with a redesigned exterior. The car is expected to be smaller than the Brezza and borrows design cues from the Grand Vitara.

The Baleno Cross is expected to be based on the Heartect platform. Reports suggest that it could be powered by the BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine that was earlier offered in the Baleno RS. Maruti might also offer a hybrid powertrain.
