Rumour: Maruti to launch Vitara Brezza on March 21, 2016

Maruti Suzuki unveiled the Vitara Brezza crossover at the 2016 Auto Expo, earlier this year. Dealerships had started accepting bookings (unofficially) in February itself and the car was expected to be launched in the month of March. Now, according to media reports, the Brezza is likely to be launched on March 21, 2016.

The Brezza measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,640 mm in height. Its wheelbase measures 2,500 mm. The car is powered by the familiar 1.3-litre, 89 BHP diesel engine sourced from Fiat. This unit is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Maruti has revealed that it is working on a petrol engine for the Brezza as well (which will be launched at a later stage).

At launch, the car will be available in LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi and ZDi+ trim levels. The ZDi+ is expected to be equipped with features such as LED DRLs, projector headlamps, dual airbags, ABS, climate control and a SmartPlay infotainment system.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to sell the Vitara Brezza through its regular dealerships. It will be pitted against the Ford EcoSport.
