Rumour: Mercedes-Benz to bring C 450 AMG Sport to India

Mercedes Benz India is rumoured to be considering the C 450 AMG Sport for India. The company will position it between the CLA 45 AMG and C 63 S AMG, which is likely to be launched in the coming months.

The C 450 AMG Sport is based on the C-Class sedan and is powered by a 3.0-litre, V6, biturbo engine that puts out 357 BHP @ 5,500-6,000 rpm and 521 Nm of torque @ 2,000-4,200 rpm. It comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Mercedes-Benz claims that the car can hit 100 kph from a standstill in 4.9 seconds and reach and electronically limited to speed of 250 kph.

The C 450 AMG Sport has various design elements that distinguished it from the regular C-Class. These include AMG Badges, chrome and gloss-black inserts, a new grille, bumpers, black exterior mirror housings, 5-spoke black alloy wheels, a spoiler on the boot and 360 mm and 320 mm ventilated disc brakes at the front and rear respectively with grey calipers that sport "Mercedes-Benz" lettering on them.

On the inside, the C 450 AMG Sport comes with AMG-specific upholstery for the seats, 3-spoke Nappa leather multifunction steering wheel, paddle shifters, sports pedal, instrument cluster with a "chequered flag" design and red needles. Features include AMG Dynamic Select (for selecting driving modes), Audio 20 infotainment system, Eco start/stop function, adaptive braking, attention assist, collision prevention assist and ISOFIX child seat attachment system.

Like other AMG cars, the C 450 AMG Sport is expected to be imported as a CBU.
