Rumour: MG working on RC-6 based sedan for India

According to a media report, MG is working on a sedan for India. It could be based on the Baojun RC-6 crossover and might hit showrooms in 2021.

The report states that MG will showcase a large sedan based on the RC-6 at the 2020 Auto Expo. The RC-6 has a 3-box bodystyle with a coupe like roofline and a slightly raised ride height. The car features a large grille and wraparound projector headlights. At the rear, it has slim wraparound tail lights and a dual-tone bumper.

On the inside, the RC-6 has a digital instrument cluster, 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a touchscreen infotainment head-unit.

It has been reported that the MG sedan could be offered with the same 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine from the Hector. A diesel variant could be introduced at a later date.
