Rumour: Nissan India to launch Terrano facelift in March 2017

Nissan is reportedly planning to launch the Terrano facelift in India in March 2017. The Terrano facelift is expected to get revised front and rear bumpers, a new set of headlights and a redesigned front grille with more chrome inserts. The side profile will remain identical to the model currently on sale. Interiors won't get any major design updates either, though Nissan might offer subtle changes like new seat upholstery.

Being just a cosmetic facelift, the new model will be mechanically identical to the current Terrano. As a result, it will continue to be offered with a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine, with the latter being available in two states of tune (85 PS and 110 PS). A 5-speed manual will be standard with the petrol and 85 PS diesel variants, while the 110 PS variants get a 6-speed MT and AMT unit.

Nissan is also expected to launch the X-Trail Hybrid SUV in India during the first quarter of next financial year, i.e., April 2017 - June 2017. Earlier showcased at the Auto Expo last year, the X-Trail Hybrid will come with a 2.0-litre gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain which will churn out 143 BHP and 200 Nm of torque. It will likely be brought in India through the CBU route.
