Rumour: Tata Harrier to be unveiled in December 2018

According to a media report, Tata Motors is likely to unveil the Harrier SUV in the first week of December. The launch of the car is expected to take place a month later.

Earlier this month, the first clear image of the Tata Harrier had been leaked online, giving us a glimpse of the upcoming SUV. The Harrier is based on the Impact Design 2.0 design philosophy. It features a V-shaped grille with LED DRLs strips on either side. The SUV has a split headlamp design and slim wraparound tail lamps. It has flared wheel arches and blacked-out B and C-pillars. The rear features a dual-tone bumper with a silver scuff plate and a roof spoiler.

On the inside, the Harrier is expected to get a touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. Initially, the SUV will be offered with 5 seats, while a 7-seat version is expected to be launched later.

The Tata Harrier will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder KRYOTEC diesel engine. It is based on Fiat's MultiJet unit that powers the Jeep Compass. The engine features an electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger (eVGT) and exhaust gas re-circulation (EGR). Tata has revealed that the engine has a low friction valve train architecture and comes with driving modes and terrain response Modes.
