Rumour: Toyota Corolla Altis facelift's launch next month

As per recent media reports, Toyota will be launching the 2017 Corolla Altis facelift in India next month, i.e. March 2017. Toyota had unveiled the facelift model in international markets last year.

With the 2017 facelift, the Corolla Altis has been given some styling and feature updates. The car comes with slimmer front grille, sleeker headlight assemblies, a redesigned bumper and a larger lower air dam. The Corolla facelift is expected to feature bi-beam LED headlamps and DRLs. The silhouette of the car remains similar to the outgoing model, though it comes with new 16 and 17-inch alloys. The rear gets a new pair of taillights with LED inserts, while the chrome appliqué on the boot lid has now been made slimmer.

The interiors too get some subtle changes, including new circular AC vents on the corners, new centre console layout, new MID screen in the instrument cluster and a larger infotainment system.

No mechanical changes will be made with the Corolla Altis facelift. As a result, it will continue to be powered by the 1.8-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines. In India, the Corolla Altis competes against the Hyundai Elantra and the Skoda Octavia.
