Camouflaged test mules of the Hyundai Elite i20 facelift were last spotted in November 2017. We now have a new set of spy images that reveal the design details of the facelifted version.

At the front, the new i20 gets a large V-shaped grille finished in gloss black. Unlike the outgoing model, it doesn't get a chrome frame. The fog lamp pods and air dam have also been redesigned. The headlamp clusters have a similar shape as the current model and get C-shaped chrome inserts along with integrated LED DRLs. The car seen here is the Asta variant, which gets projector headlights. The rear of the car gets a new bumper with black inserts and a redesigned tailgate. Also note that the tail lights now extend on to the tailgate. The Asta variant comes with new design, 5-spoke alloy wheels in a gunmetal finish.

On the inside, the Elite i20 facelift gets a dual-tone dashboard that is similar to the outgoing model. The centre console houses a touchscreen infotainment system. The automatic climate control module is placed in the lower half of the centre console. The Asta variant gets a multi-functional steering wheel with volume and phone controls and a twin-pod instrument cluster with a central MID. It also has an engine start/stop button.

Hyundai is likely to offer the same 1.2-litre petrol, 1.4-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines on the i20 facelift. In their current state of tune, the petrol engines are rated at 82 BHP and 99 BHP respectively, while the diesel makes 89 BHP and 220 Nm of peak torque. The petrol version will be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission while a 6-speed manual will be offered on the diesel models. It has been rumoured that the i20 AT will be offered with the 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with a new continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Hyundai Elite i20 facelift will be unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo.
