Sebastian Vettel wins the 2017 Hungarian GP

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel has won the Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix ahead of his team mate - Kimi Raikkonen. Valtteri Bottas finished in third place for Mercedes, while his team mate - Lewis Hamilton stood fourth.

While Ferrari showed good pace all weekend, it was not all smooth sailing for Vettel. His car developed a steering issue during the race. However, the nature of the circuit made overtaking difficult and with Raikkonen placed between him and the two Mercedes cars, the championship leader was able to win the race.

With Bottas, who was in third position, unable to pass his fellow Finn, Mercedes gave Hamilton a chance by swapping places. However, even Hamilton couldn't overtake Kimi and gave the place back to his team mate on the last lap.

Max Verstappen finished fifth for Red Bull. After colliding with his team mate - Daniel Ricciardo on the first lap of the race, the Dutch driver was handed a 10 second penalty.

McLaren had a better race than what has been seen in the season so far. Both the cars finished in the points with Alonso in sixth (8 championship points) and Stoffel Vandoorne in tenth (1 championship point) positions. Carlos Sainz (Toro Rosso) finished in seventh position with the of two Force India cars of Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon finishing eighth and ninth respectively.

With this win, Vettel has increased his lead over Hamilton in the championship by 14 points.
