Spyshots of the new Scorpio with interior pictures

Seven months ago, the refreshed Mahindra Scorpio Automatic was first spotted. This time the test mule spotted by Autocar, seems to be the 4 wheel drive version, with closer interior shots. Immediately, one notices the grey and beige theme has replaced with black and beige; and the new interiors feel more modern and upmarket than the outgoing model.

The steering wheel looks similar to the one found on the XUV500 and has a flattish horn pad with steering mounted buttons. The dials appear to be small with a blue back light and the new digital MID looks futuristic. It seems to be equipped with tyre pressure monitoring system and a differential lock. The electronic outside rear view mirror control knob is placed at the bottom right of the dashboard beside the headlight adjustment leveler and buttons for the fuel lid opener and defogger.

Chrome touches around the air-con vents look good and all the vents are rectangular rather than round of the outgoing version.  Even the ugly wood trim seems to have been replaced by piano black finishing on the centre console. What is noteworthy is that the power window switches have been moved to the door providing better ergonomics. All the buttons seem to be of XL size, befitting the SUVs butch character. Even the rear air-con vent console is re-designed.

M&M has been selling the Scorpio in India since 2002 and have updated its' exteriors periodically to keep up with times. This time around too, the side profile and the body shell of the car is unmistakably a Scorpio, indicating only minor updates rather than any major one to the exterior. The frontal look is likely to be changed and will wear the family face. Expect changes to the front bumper grills, headlamps and fog lamps. The rear of the car too will see minor changes to the bumper and tail lamps - which are now LED. The car will sport a new design of alloy wheels too.
