Taiwan-based e-scooter brand Gogoro to debut in India

Gogoro could launch the S1 and Viva e-scooters in India.

Taiwan-based electric scooter brand Gogoro plans to enter the Indian market. According to a media report, the company will make an official announcement on November 3, 2022.

While details of Gogoro’s plans for India are still under wraps, it is said that the company could foray into the e-scooter segment with the S1. It might also offer the Gogoro Viva as a last-mile delivery option for B2B customers.

The Gogoro S1 is powered by an electric motor with an output of 9.6 BHP and 27 Nm. It is powered by a swappable lithium-ion battery pack that is said to offer a maximum range of 150 km.

The Gogoro Viva uses an electric motor that makes 4 BHP and 85 Nm, while its battery offers a range of 85 km on a single charge.

Meanwhile, the company has already formalized its partnership with Hero MotoCorp to set up its battery-swapping network across India.
