Tata Motors to hike prices from January 2017

Tata Motors will be increasing prices of all cars in its portfolio from 1st January 2017. The said price hike will be in the range of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 25,000, depending on the model. The company claims that the scheduled price hike is a result of increasing prices of raw materials like steel, aluminium, copper and rubber.

Tata had announced a price increase of up to Rs. 12,000 across its model line-up in October this year. Interestingly, the scheduled hike will be the third rise for the Tata Tiago since its launch earlier this year.

Tata Motors is finally seeing an increasing sales graph. The Indian automaker has been the third largest car seller in the country for the month of November 2016. This growth is currently being led by the Tiago hatchback, which has seen a satisfactory response and is bringing around 6,000 unit sales for the manufacturer every month.

Tata has also scheduled a slew of launches for the next year. The first of these scheduled upcoming launches is the Hexa SUV, which will be followed by the Nexon compact SUV and the Kite5 compact sedan. The company is also readying an AMT version of the Tiago to further boost its sales.
