Tata Nexon scores a 5-star rating in Global NCAP crash tests

The car scored 32.22 points for adult occupant protection and 44.52 points for child occupant safety.

The Tata Nexon facelift has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP. The car scored 32.22 points for adult occupant protection and 44.52 points for child occupant safety.

According to the crash test report, the Nexon offered good protection to the head and neck of the driver and passenger in the frontal impact test. The driver’s and passenger’s knees showed good protection. Driver’s tibias showed adequate protection and passenger’s tibias showed good protection.

The head, abdomen and pelvis showed good protection, while the chest showed adequate protection in the side impact test. The curtain airbags provided good protection to the head and pelvis in the side pole impact test, while the protection to the chest and abdomen were rated as marginal and adequate, respectively.

Child seats for 3-year and 18-month-olds were able to prevent head exposure during the frontal impact test, offering almost full protection. Both child restraint systems (CRS) offered full side impact protection.

The Nexon comes equipped with 6 airbags, 3-point seat belts for all occupants, and ISOFIX restraints. The car’s safety suite also includes ESP, a 360-degree camera, Blind view monitoring, front parking sensors, auto-dimming IRVM, TPMS and front fog lamps with cornering function.
