Thailand: Toyota Fortuner GR Sport spied

The Fortuner GR Sport is likely to be positioned above the Legender. Whether it will be launched in India remains to be seen.

Looks like Toyota is preparing a sportier version of the Fortuner for the Thai market. It is expected to be called the 'GR Sport'.

Spy images of the new variant have surfaced online. At first glance, the heavily camouflaged test mule looks similar to the Legender. However, it appears to be fitted with larger wheels shod with low profile tyres. It even has red brake calipers.

The front fascia of the SUV looks similar to that of the Legender but the camouflage on the grille and bumper suggests that it might sport a more aggressive look. The SUV also has side steps and a roof spoiler at the rear.

In India, the Fortuner is available with two engine options - a 2.7-litre petrol that makes 164 BHP and 245 Nm and a 2.8-litre diesel that puts out 201 BHP and 500 Nm. Rumours suggest that the 'GR Sport' variant could be offered with the choice of a turbo-petrol or diesel engine.
