Toyota Fortuner & Legender sales cross the 3 lakh unit mark

The Fortuner & Legender SUVs are available with petrol and diesel engine options in manual and automatic versions.

Toyota has achieved cumulative sales of 3 lakh units of the Fortuner and Legender SUVs in India.

Launched in 2009, the Toyota Fortuner is one of the most popular SUVs in the Indian market. It is based on a rugged ladder-frame architecture and has four-wheel drive capabilities, which is one of the reasons why it is so sought after.

In 2021, Toyota introduced the Legender. Based on the same highly capable platform as the Fortuner, it offers a more stylish exterior along with added features such as sequential LED turn indicators, wireless charging, and an 11-speaker JBL audio system.

The Toyota Fortuner is available with two engine options. These include a 2.8-litre diesel paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic and a 2.7-litre petrol engine mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.

The Legender is only offered with a diesel engine. It’s the same 2.8-litre unit available in the Fortuner and comes with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.
