Toyota recalls 5,834 units of Corolla Altis diesel in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has recalled 5,834 units of the Corolla Altis diesel sedan to replace some components contributing to engine oil entry into air intake system.

This exercise is a part of a global recall and involves vehicles manufactured between June 15, 2010 and May 23, 2011. Toyota will contact the owners of the affected vehicles through letters or telephone calls.

The vehicles will be repaired if necessary by authorized Toyota dealers free of cost. The time required for the completion of repairs will be informed at the time of customer communication.

Toyota claims that no complaints have been received regarding the matter in India so far. However, the company is conducting this recall as a part of the Voluntary Recall code.
