BMW M3, M4 launched in India

BMW has launched the M3 sedan and M4 coupe in India.

The exteriors of the M3 and M4 feature an M double-bar kidney grill with an M badge, flared wheel arches, air curtains and M gills on the front wings, integrated rear spoiler and diffuser in the rear apron and an M carbon roof. The M3 and M4 are available in eight exterior colours - Alpine White (non-metallic), Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Yas Marina Blue, Sakhir Orange, Silverstone, Austin Yellow and Mineral Grey (metallic).

The interiors of the M3 and M4 feature M sports seats at the front, 60:40 split seats at the rear, M leather steering wheel, M door sills, M footrest, M gearshift lever and M circular dials. The cars are equipped with BMW iDrive with touch controller, GPS, a 22.35 cm colour display with 3D maps, full-colour head-up display with M-specific views, connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices and BMW Apps. Park Distance Control (PDC) rear and front along with rear view camera come as standard.

The M3 and M4 are powered by a 2979 cc, inline 6-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol engine with producing 425 bhp @ 5500-7300 rpm and 550 Nm @ 1850-5500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, which can be operated using paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel. BMW claims that the cars can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 4.1 seconds and attain an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph.

Safety features and driver aids include air bags, Active M Differential, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including M Dynamic mode and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Other features include Automatic Start/Stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration and Electric Power Steering.

The M3 and M4 are brought to India through the CBU route.
