Toyota Urban Cruiser scores 4 stars in Global NCAP test

The crossover scored 13.52 points for adult occupant safety and 36.68 points for child protection.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser has been awarded a 4-star rating by Global NCAP. The crossover scored 13.52 points for adult occupant safety and 36.68 points for child protection.

As per the test report, the Urban Cruiser offered good protection to the driver and passenger's head and neck. The driver’s chest showed adequate protection while the passenger’s chest showed good protection. The driver’s knees and the passenger’s right knee showed marginal protection. Driver tibias showed adequate protection while passenger tibias showed good protection.

The bodyshell was rated as stable and it was capable of withstanding further loadings. The Footwell area was rated as stable

The child seat for a 3-year old was able to prevent excessive forward movement of the head. It offered low protection for the neck and fair protection to the chest. Protection for a 1.5-year old's head and chest was rated as good.

The test car was equipped with front seat belt pre-tensioners, seat belt reminder, dual front airbags, ISOFIX and ABS.
