Toyota Vellfire launched at Rs. 79.50 lakhs

Toyota has launched the Vellfire in India at prices starting at Rs. 79.50 lakh (ex-showroom, except Kerala). The petrol-hybrid MPV is imported as a completely built unit (CBU).

The Vellfire gets split headlamps with LED daytime running lights, thick chrome bar, a large airdam and triangular fog lamp pods. Four exterior colours are on offer - Burning Black, White Pearl, Graphite & Black.

On the inside, the Vellfire will be offered with a choice of two colour options - beige and black. It also gets features like a leather-wrapped, multi-function steering wheel with wooden inserts, a twin-pod instrument cluster, cooled and heated seats with memory and reclining function, leather upholstery, power side and rear doors, twin moonroof, sunshades, ambient lighting, individual seat tables, automatic climate control and personal spot lights.

The Vellfire is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine developing 115 BHP and 198 Nm. The engine works in sync with dual electric motors rated at 105 kW and 50 kW at the front and rear respectively. The hybrid electric setup consists of a Nickel Metal hydride battery and gets a claimed fuel economy of 16.35 km/l.

Safety features include 7 airbags, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist, panoramic camera view and emergency brake signal amongst others.
