Triumph Tiger 900 launched at Rs. 13.7 lakh

Triumph has launched Tiger 900 adventure bike in India. It is available in three variants - GT, Rally and Rally Pro. These are priced at Rs. 13.70 lakh, Rs. 14.35 lakh and Rs. 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

The GT version is designed for the road. It comes with alloy wheels and a lower seat height for a more relaxed riding position. The Rally and Rally Pro variants are more suited for off-road riding. These are equipped with wire-spoke wheels and have a higher seat height. These variants get more off-road oriented features as well.

The seat height varies from 810 mm to 870 mm depending on variant. The wheelbase of the Rally and Rally Pro is 1,551 mm, while the GT's is 1,556 mm. The dry weight of the Tiger 900 is 194-201 kg.

The Tiger 900 comes with a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, mobile phone storage with USB charging and heated grips as standard. Features such as LED auxiliary fog lights, Shift Assist, illuminated switches, heated seats, tyre pressure monitoring system and My Triumph Connectivity System are available on the Rally Pro variant.

The Tiger 900 is powered by an 888cc, 3-cylinder engine that produces 93.9 BHP @ 8,750 rpm and 87 Nm @ 7,250 rpm. The engine features a new T-plane triple crankshaft that is claimed to reduce weight by 2.5 kg. The firing order of the cylinders has also been changed. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission. It has four riding modes - Rain, Road, Sport and Off-Road. The Rally Pro variant gets additional Off-Road Pro and rider configurable modes.

The Tiger 900 GT comes with upside down Marzocchi forks and Marzocchi monoshock at the rear, while the Rally and Rally Pro variants get Showa suspension. It features dual 320 mm disc brakes at the front and a single 225 mm disc at the rear. The Tiger 900 GT comes with 19-inch and 17-inch wheels at the front and rear respectively, while the Rally and Rally Pro variants get 21-inch wheels at the front.
