Why I cancelled my Mahindra Thar Roxx booking

I have previously owned a 2-door Mahindra Thar 4x4 petrol automatic, hence, I could relate the positives and negatives w.r.t. the Roxx.

BHPian LeoMachine recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

I went ahead and cancelled my booking of Mahindra Thar Roxx D AT 4X4 stealth black.

I had booked it on 3rd Oct at 11:01 am and I would have been allocated a vehicle by Oct end, going by the trend.

I did take a longish test drive and while it has improved leaps and bounds over its earlier sibling, I was not comfortable with its front seats. I usually do long drives of ~900 kms of mixed road conditions and the use case became a deal breaker for me.

Ride quality though improved is still average. I had previously owned a 2-door P AT 4X4 hence could relate the positives and negatives w.r.t Roxx.

Back seat comfort is something that can be lived with. The family was not convinced about the way back seats had to be accessed. I did speak to a few prospects who booked with family quotient in mind and it seems that’s where many of them feel disappointed.

I expect quite a few cancellations and my hunch is that it may not be a runaway success like Thar 2-door especially when most of us would have learnt our lessons from it.
